ZION (Stronghold of Jerusalem; the city of David)

2 Samuel 5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. (1st time used in the bible)

1 Kings 8:1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Psalm 9:11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

Psalm 87:2 The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Psalm 102:16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

Psalm 132:13-14 For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. 14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Psalm 99:5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

Psalm 110:1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
